Guide's will be on the server to assist new players when they first join.

they will help find them a plot, explain their basic commands, and guide them to places like the resource world, and the tutorial.

if you would like to become a Guide, please express interest on this topic, and give reasons why you are the ideal candidate.

I'd like to be a guide because I try to help new users often and this way I could do it even more. I've played on this server for quite some time and I know a lot about it and how to get started. I go on the server very often so I'm sure I'd be helpful to lots of new players or someone who just needs some help. :]

My name is ArTcPredator and I would absolutely love to be a guide. I would welcome new players everytime. Let them know we have a tutorial and that they should read it if they want basic info about SLAP. I will answer every question asked in the best possible way. I will help new players with finding a plot and where they can find certain resources. L would love it if i had the opportunity to be a guide because I would be giving back to the community. I am on minecraft as much as possible. I have also been a member for a few months now and know my way around the server. I would like to become guide because I help new players whenever possible, and like zath's application, I know how to get started pretty well. I am also on the server often, so I can be helpful most of the time. Unfortnautely, I cannot be on Ventrilo at all :(.

I would absolutely love to become a guide. Due to the fact that i have already donated and i don't think i am ready or able to be a mod (if i were to be accepted), I feel as though becoming a guide would be the perfect position in which i can help new players and contribute more to the server. I only play on this server therefore i am on it a lot, and i do use vent (when i am able to).

I just wanted to say that I've seen the guides in action, and it seems to be working really well so far. So, Good Job Guides! They've seemed really friendly and welcoming and quick to help.

I didn't really think my first post, was, you know, awesome enough, so I editted it :P

My name is Jonathan Eged, I live in Vancouver BC where its always sunny without any mention of rain. I am 14, and have been on the server since late november. Thats like 6 months! I'm active on the server, roughly 1-2 hours a day, and I just love it. I help a lot of new-comers to the server by either giving them starter gear, directing them to open plots, the wilderness, the RW or PvP arena, and help them with commands. I like to think that I help them become members as well because I tell them about Iconomy and the store, awesome things that only members get. I helped Lordgandalf build slap-world through the arcade and 1 or 2 ideas (The maze, for one).

I've been VIP for a long time. Heck, im practially the Senior VIP on most of the time. I've seen that, yes, the admins and mods are there most of the time. But every once and a while there's this guy who comes on when they all leave and need help. I try to help them the best I can, and I mostly do, which is why I think I should become a guide. =)
I am downloading vent tommorow (date:23/06/2012). I'm on the Pacific Coast Timezone, 8 hours behind you Jack, so I could cover quite a bit of the day while everyone in the Uk has dozed off xD.

I don't know anybody who hates me or wants to viciously kill me in PvP. I think i'd be a great guide, because there's nothing more than i'd love to do than help people get to know people around the server and help them have a great time at a great server.

Hello :) Its EndurableJono here and I am applying for Guide :D
I want to help the server as much as possible and a Guide seems like the perfect oppertunity to do so. I like helping people and i do so already, i just want to be recognised for doing so- e.g.(Having the in-game tag). With the ever growing population of Slap-Gaming i just want to help and make sure that everyone has a great time.
I hope you take me into consideration. Plus i have vent and am on it all the time!

I'd like to become a guide to help new player and i really like helping players and this was i could help even more. I am on this server everyone day so i would be a good help.

I know everyone else here wants to be a Guide but so do I, I love to help the server any ways I can,and I'm becoming more and more active again, I took a break because of the year was ending in school, but now I got summer vacation with lots of time on my hands..... let's see..... maybe beeing a guide will do the trick :3

I don't really want to be a guide, but I have seen the Guides we have right now and they seem to be doing a great job helping out and showing newbies the ropes of the server.

The guides are doing a great job, and it's a really good idea - a couple of things;

1) Let guides use coloured chat to draw attention to what they're saying.
2) The way guides help is great - however when someone logs onto the server for the first time they're bombarded with information from sometimes 2 or 3 people - and from past experiences this can often seem a bit intimidating. I've no idea how you would do this, but is there a way for it to signal one of the guides who's online at a time to help a player when they join to prevent 3 people all spamming 'hello, welcome to the server we can help.. etc etc' messages.

On the whole though, great idea :)

option 1) i am implementing soon - however i would prefer them to encourage using private messages

option 2) i have warned them to all stop using those macro's.

You should give guides WG'ing abilities. This would be convenient when the guides have shown the new platers to their plot and will take a load off of the mods and admins, just a thought. :)

I say "no" on that,

the point is that they are just Guides and not Mods. Guides are supposed to show new players around, Mods/Admins do the worldguard things and such.

Isnt it an idea to give guides a protection type thingy zo they can protect a plot of a new player when waiting for a admin to wg it fully so that the guides can go on and help other players and the new player can start on building a house without the idea that he stuff will be gone if he returns from the resource world.
I think some think like that would be nice and a mod or admin should "aprovve" the protection to make it a full WG.
And isnt it a idea to give guides a place in proximity of the spawn where their "headquarters" would be
