Since the new update (1.3) will bring emeralds, I'm wondering how this will be implemented. Will we all start from scratch? Or will we change servers like we did for 1.2? Just curious.

Also, 'cause this is the server suggestions :P I'm wondering if someone could draw up a list of server approved/ server ignored client side mods. It'd help, say, if somebody wanted to know if they were allowed a miniap or a slime finder. Perhaps post the link in 'green' spawn. So like slap-gaming.com/allowedmods or so.

No, we will not start from scratch. From what I have heard from the staff they will just be making a new resource world. As for what mods are allowed, I think that is a good idea.

We have actually not decided yet, we will first see how big the changes in this patch actually are and we will then decide what we are going to do. :)
As soon as this patch is released it will still take a little while for bukkit to release a stable version, don't expect a decision before the patch is released. Also, we only changed server to get a more powerful server, this actually didn't change the map ^^

Regarding the question about mods:
Mods that don't give an unfair advantage are allowed (Note: Staff always decides whether a mod is allowed/not allowed. This is only a guideline!), if you aren't sure just ask a mod/admin if the mod that you want to use is allowed. Due to the huge amount of mods being made it's pretty much impossible to keep up with it, therefore we will not be making a list of all allowed mods

could you not just add them when people ask?
say I said is mod 'hshs' allowed and you said yes then it would say yes, however if it was declined it would enter a no list. this way only mods which people acutaly use get added - and it's a reference point for the type of mods people are allowed to use in the future.

the resource world will be regenerated with a 1.3 seed, allowing for alot of villages (that will be WG'd to preserve them) and alot of emeralds + the other features.

Ok, so villages will be Wgd. What about Villagers? I know villagers tend to get killed often. Should we perhaps add a villager egg to the spawn?

Speaking of the spawn, I think someting should go below it. I accidently (Server bug?) spawned below the spawn O.o I noticed how all the old spawn is under it. Heck, there was the old enchanting room! It was nice seeing it and all, but something should go down there. Maybe a club (Like dance club kind of thing), with the entrance under the spawn fountain. Or a mall, perhaps a museum, or even (Even!) some giant redstone game like the tic tac toe thing they built on youtube.

I honestly don't care, but something should go down there. There's a bunch of room, good real estate, thats just sitting there doing nothing.

the problem with having a large amount of redstone down there is that it causes massive lagg. If it was filled in, just as stone, I doubt that you would have considered this, just because there's room there it doesn't mean that you have to use it.

Yup, what Iain just said. One of the reasons to get a new spawn was to reduce lag for players in that area. We won't put any redstone down there :)

In that case, how about something with no redstone? There was quite a fair bit when I was down there, curtsey of the old Minecart Station, lighting systems and other odds and ends.

Also, theres two NPC villages that are unpopulated nearby (My house). One is under Double_13's wg but in good shape (Minus a door here or there), and the other was completely leveled except for a few buildings which are inhabited. Perhaps create a new village next to it and take away Double's wg, as he hasn't been on (I think) March 22, 2012 at 3:28am.

Coordinates are 1700, -1200 and 2500, -400.

Another Idea is that we should have a summer event, either building, find the signs, or a new idea. Why not start on July 1? If its items on slabs, we could use summer things like sand, buckets, buckets of water, magma cream, etc. Signs is kind of self-explainitory. As for a new idea, lets have a pyramid run! Since the new "Pyramid run" is done, just decorate the pyramid, and then just time the people who get through the fastest. 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize all the way to 10.

Another edit... if new PvP games are up, can we have TDM (team deathmatch) KOTH (King of the hill) and OD (oddball, where both teams vie to capture the oddball for points).

Good call! Could likewise ghast tears, blaze rods, blaze powder, ender pearls, eyes of ender, magma cream and the "Rare" drops of mobs be added?

...And, er. I don't really know where else to put this, but would a shallow World Edit of 5 blocks be allowed? I did the math, it'd roughly 12000 blocks. I promise I won't stack them up. I already don't do it with my EXP farm (though I do have a few chests of splash potions if I can't keep up) so I swear to god I won't on here if it gets done. I imagine it'd be just a... I guess loot farm so I wouldn't stack them at all, just collect the loot.And, um, I'd really appriciate it if someone did do the WE, its a bit to large to mine, and slightly to dangerous with me living over a massive lava lake system and really big abandoned mineshaft. I don't know if this is coming across rude or demanding or selfish or what, but I don't mean it like that. Its only that I need that World Edit pretty badly, because theres no way I can mine it out without spending 10k and losing my enchanted gear, or not mine it out and spend more money. I'd really be happy if someone did do it.

Do it yourself, that's the point in playing minecraft. Believe me, you'll be much more proud of it when you've done it yourself and it doesn't even take that long :)

You guys are totally right, I just slept on it and it occured to me that Once my huse is done I'll have very little to do! One thing in that case, is to improve Flrn's public farm. You can make the melons and pumpkins auto (Pistons pushing the block under the melons/pumpkins) and the reeds auto as well (Piston breaks off any reeds higher than 2.

The slime farm should also be enlarged :P It is, after all a public farm.

Edit: Turns out I did my math wrong. Its really 120000 blocks. -.- arg.

Edit 2: SKillzy helped me mine today. I think I'm at 6000 blocks. Also 3am helped, and mined out somemore.

Edit 3: First slime spotted!

Edit 4: Sitting at 9000 blocks.

Edit 5: Many slimes are spawning

Edit 6: Hired veryunderstated to do the rest for a mere 2000$, which I earn in two days from /vipgrant glowstone and a fortune pick.

The slime farm is big enough tho, it is exactly at the borders of 2 linked slime chunks, so it doesn't need to be bigger.

Sure thing, I'd love to =) Though what you could do is funnel both slime farms to one point, so you don't run about like a chicken with its head cut off looking for them (Slime farm one is slightly darkened by being close to the void.)

What's happened to the spam bot? Today 3 people spammed F-bombs. They spammed the word maybe twice a second. It took up to 30 seconds for one to get banned. Can we have a spam bot that kicks people that send 5 messages in 10 seconds, and temp bans people who drop F-bombs for maybe 2 minutes, and alerts admins when they do?

Could we have Extra Cake Defense types? Perhaps solo CD, easy/normal/hard CD, nether CD and Explosion CD? CD was editted in, so all you'd have to do is edit the type of spawners (ie Zombies -> Hostile Zombie Pigmen).

Making zombie hostile pigmen spawners is currently impossible. It is (probably) going to be possible in the next mc version. But even then we probably won't do this. Copying big areas of redstone to somewhere else still makes it break quite often, therefore copying this over to somewhere else would be a huge task (we used MCedit to copy CD in, but we had to take the whole server offline for about 30 minutes to do that back then..)
