I have a laptop so I didn't have the option to get identical monitors. Mine are about the same size, but that's not what's most important.

My laptop can go to 1600x900 resolution, but my second monitor, although the same size, can only go to 1360x768 without it being blurry.

Basically, you don't need identical monitors but you want to make sure they can both be set at the resolution you want.

That's a Rainmeter skin. Rainmeter is a program which can put all these fancy stuffs on your Desktop, like these mini gadgets in Win Vista/7 (Built-in).
