Hello and Welcome to the Ventrilo Tutorial!
I will show you how to set up a connection to our Ventrilo Server.
First download Ventrilo here: http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php.
After installing it, open it.
Here's the logo:
And this is Ventrilo after opening for the first time.
Now, you need a username to connect with. Choose your Minecraft Username or something we can identify you with.
To set up a username, click on the arrow near "Username" (1).
This opens a window:
Click on "New" and the window on the right opens itself, put your username into the textfield. After this, click "OK" on both windows.
Now, the username is set! But you need a server to connect to. Click on the arrow near "Server" (2).
As you can see, another window opened itself - the Server Setup window.
Press "New" and enter a name for the server, in our case "SLAP Gaming". Of course you can choose anything else. But if you have more than one Ventrilo server, choose a name, so you don't get confused. After entering the server's name, press "OK".
Now, you have to enter IP and Port to connect.
Leave the password field blank, you might need it later.
Press "OK". Ventrilo will show up a message like this:
If this message doesn't look like the picture above, you did something wrong, restart the tutorial then.
But the message is ok, now press "Connect" on the upper right of the Ventrilo window.
You will hear a sound, and you have now entered the server!
